Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

This is a problem i have noticed in all version of ubuntu i've been
using, hoary to edgy, on different i386 computers:

Nautilus sometimes hangs when showing a directory with thumbnails.
Repeated tries to re-open the same directory leads nautilus to hang each
time. Setting off "other files" thumbnail view in nautilus preferences
allows to move some files to another place. Then i can set thumbnails
view on again, open the original directory, open the directory where i
moved the files, and even move back the files exactly as they were.
Nautilus does not hang anymore.

This happens rarely though, once to 3 times a month (daily 8h use of the
system). File types are the most common ones: png, jpg, gif, pdf (and
other unthumbnailed ones, like doc, html, php).

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
