Hi Leann, strange thing happened to me: I completely reinstalled Kubuntu from 7.04 up to latest updates for 8.04, and now the system starts even with kernel 2.6.24.x !!! The only thing changed is that now Kubuntu in the other hard disk (the original one shipped with the comp). Now I'm thinking it was a problem boot sector disk and Linux disk. In any case I'll try also the newer 2.6.27.
