Public bug reported:

when login screen shows the keyboard will not respond. mouse will work.
keyboard responds to <sysrq> s u b to restart.

a very annoying workaround is to unplug the network cable and boot. then
once the login screen is up, plug it back in and the card works as
expected with no errors in the logs.

might be related to bug 131965 however there are different issues.
