If I have understand correctly I think there is the same bug on Hardy. It seems that the metapackage virtualbox-ose-modules-generic is unable to choose the correct version of the package to install due to incorrect kernel version detection. For example it try to install the virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-20-generic while the latest Hardy kernel is the 2.6.24-19, causing apt-get to fail the installation.
