Larry, I finally installed the firmware (via b43-fwcutter) and tried b43 on my 4312 here. I got nothing. No entry in ifconfig or iwconfig, nothing about wireless in network manager, nothing that I could find in syslog or dmesg when I unloaded and then loaded or rebooted.
