@Leann Ogasawara: there are no news about this bug. I' ve Ubuntu 8.04 and I keep it update but I wasn't able to get the brightness control back. sorry. As soon as I saw the new alpha of ubuntu i tried it (Alpha 4 - Released August 14th, 2008) but the only thing I got was a black screen! I waited for some minutes and than I rebooted. To be sure it was not a fault in the CD i've done a check on the media and it seems the CD is ok.
@Lilian ROBERT: I don't think. The Fn+F8 and Fn+F9 worked in the previous version on Ubuntu while the wireless didn't worked. But If you take a look around o this site you can find the modified madwifi driver (you need to compile them yourself) to get the wireless.
