Public bug reported: Hello everyone,
I have a Dell Inspiron 6400 dualcore sytem, with an Ati video card and 2 gb ram. My wireless network card is a 3945 abg intel. uname -a Linux ben-o-mat 2.6.24-19-generic #1 SMP Wed Aug 20 22:56:21 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux (Hardy Heron) I have all actual packages installed. My problem: When I start my laptop it stopps every time with this dialog mkdir: Cannot create directory `/dev/shm/var.run': file exists mkdir: Cannot create directory `/dev/shm/var.lock': file exists rmdir: `/dev/shm/var.run': device or resource busy rmdir: `/dev/shm/var.lock': device or resource busy Then comes some other infos. After "Configuring network interfaces" it stopps for a while and resume after ctlr + alt + del. I cant give you an error log, because my /var/log/boot is emty. When you tell me how to enable this log I will post it. Up to this, I wont change anything to fix this bug. I had attached my dmesg output for further informations. Thanks for reading and helping!
