I have a similar crash on startup with the exiting of update_cursor_values() failing a stack smashing check. There's a temporary buffer which isn't made big enough. This patch expands the size of the buffer to 512 bytes and makes sure we don't overrun. However it doesn't do anything in the case when it does overrun.
