It seems thers's a workaround. In this comment (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/134716/comments/7), a few solutions are proposed. First the server solution: in the samba-config, issue 'unix extension = no'. That's what I did and that triggered this bug (224317).
There's also another solution on the client: add an extra parameter '-o nounix' something like this: mount -t cifs //server/share /mnt -o nounix I added the option and remounted on Samba, and the 'minimal rights' problem is solved. It's working, it's a workaround (both the servef and the client have to be configured), but for now, my problem is solved. Thanks, Steve (for pointing out the 'unix extensions' link). -- cifs: file_mode ignored when creating files on a samba server with unix extensions = no https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224317 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
