Hi, is this still an issue? I think that this could be a bug in HAL or
gnome-power-manager, so we need to isolate where the bug is. Could you
please follow the steps outlined at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingGNOMEPowerManager. In particular, could
you please run the following commands at a time when g-p-m is indicating
the wrong values:

hal-find-by-capability --capability "battery" | xargs -n 1 hal-device > 
hal-battery.log
gnome-power-bugreport.sh > gnome-power-bugreport.log

...and then attach the two resulting log files to this bug report.
