Thanks for reminding me, I overlooked that bit. I changed it, and now it works. Finally, the usual look :)
Is there a reason why it is set to -1 by default? There is no problem with it under gnome, but it seems like other DEs (if any) are affected. As for screen_resolution: when I saw that it did not do anything I set it to 0, which made it disappear from the list on the next restart.
