Public bug reported:

When pressing the -/+-Volume-keys on the border of my laptop, a window
pops up in the middle of the screen and shows me a bar which should
represent the volume of the audio output, pressing the (-)-keys
decreases the bar, but the volume still stays the same, it has no
affect.

I'm using an up-to-date Ubuntu 8.04.

Remark: The mixer-applet in the gnome-panel adjusts the right volume.
