Also, on what basis is this believed to be a NVIDIA driver bug? I am a programmer (Haskell, Scheme mostly) and I'm naturally skeptical... I suppose it might be, but I am certainly not convinced that's the case. Honestly, it feels much more a problem with GTK. (that might somehow be related to the NVIDIA driver, but I don't see any reason to believe that is the case.)
Compiz is still doing it's fancy effects, dimming applications that aren't responding and fading in and out windows. I just lost the use of the graphical file manager, though, when I tried to hit the "up" button to ascend into the parent directory I was (successfully) viewing. The only GUI application that appears to be working at the moment is AIM, and it is displaying my friends list. However, trying to send myself a message on another computer doesn't do anything, though I can send a message to the broken computer and have it displayed. The way the whole sequence of events unfolds is that one application stops working, and the problem slowly "grows" and "infects" other applications as I try to use them. And, unlike the previous two events, I wasn't running gnome tali at all. -- Most Gnome applications stop working https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/238507 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
