I now have a repeatable way to cause a crash that is probably the same as the
one reported here.
but the steps are a little but different than above

Hardy 8.04
gjots2 version 2.3.4
Python 2.5.2

============
Summary: if you have a nested child of a nested child and then you delete it's
title you crash

Steps:
1) run gjots2
2) File/New to create a new message file

3) type "here is some text"
4) Tree/New Page

5) type "Title 1"
6) type about 10 lines of "text"

7) select about half of the lines and Tree/Split Item
8) Tree/Demote  (makes it a child)

9) Select the First line/title of the new child and press the
[backspace] key

result: gjots2 crashes/closes

repros 3 for 3

although the repro seems a bit long winded, the crash was actually encountered
through normal use.
============

I will contact the dev and see if he has any thoughts on this subject.
It's a two man project with no formal bug tracking system.
