Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately xmms was removed since Ubuntu 8.04 "Hardy Heron" because it was unmaintained. So we will not fix your bug. You can use audacious instead. It is an fork of xmms and is actively developed.
