Public bug reported: I have installed kubuntu 7.10 on my Acer 5052anWxmi with 1.5 gb RAM. I wanted to install 8.04 in lieu of 7.10. Installation moves forward after DISABLING ACPI (ACPI=OFF). After installation in this way, you have to again disable ACPI while booting the kernel 2.6.24.19-generic. I have tried a dozen times to install 8.04 but without success.
** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- unable to install kubuntu 8.04 without acpi=off. Kubuntu 7.10 is working well.
