Judging by the response of google to ""gnome-terminal --tab-with- profile=", and the upstream bug page ( http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83203 ) , there's plenty of room to improve the docs _and_ add the "hoped for" functionality: -a --attach-tab-to-current-window-with-profile=PROFILENAME Open a tab in the current window with the given profile name.
