well, the symptom is that this error comes all the time when i start update manager, or when i run it from the command promt as well with the sudo apt command. I guess this started to happen when I changed the XDMCP.conf configuration file setting the attributes to be configured with vnc remote desktop. guess this is sufficient for ya... if anything, do ask. you can also catch me on gtalk, msn or yahoo, add me up: sameerk1980. incase you wish we can hit this online togeather. -- Thanks & Regards, Sameer K.
