Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

I enabled the Blur windows effect and set the plugin to blur normal and
dialog windows. I use the 4xblinear blur filter. The windows are blured
with the new Intrepid theme (Emesene or gnome-terminal background for
instance). But the bluring is very slow. It consumes about 40% of CPU
when I move around the blured window. This should not happen if the blur
operation is done with the GPU not the CPU. So I assume there is a lot
of space for performance improvement if the blur operations would be on
GPU.

Using Intrepid with the latest updates.
