Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit
Opening the attached file (base64 mess) causes gedit's memory usage to skyrocket. It reached 1.2GiB for me and gedit was still unresponsive. Chopping the file in half and opening again means gedit uses about half as much memory as before, but becomes responsive while showing a line of weird characters (looks like many characters that have been placed on top of each other). gedit/intrepid uptodate 2.23.1-0ubuntu2 ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gedit very high memory usage with relatively small file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/256557 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
