I use Ubuntu 8.04 and repos not are updated (they contain 1.06 version, and lastest is 1.31 (08-08-08)). In intrepid is 1.22-1. Official site of Transmissión not provided .deb with lastest versión, only sources(see [1]). Ubuntu users need more alternatives than only compile sources. They need a .deb updated in the repos.
