When this bug originally occured, I did not have totem-xine installed.
It seems to be unecessary to install a totem gstreamer mime type desktop
when Movie Player already has gstreamer installed by default and uses
that. The "choice" between Movie Player and Movie Player (gstreamer) is
no real choice as both load the gstreamer backend. Perhaps the desktop
mime type can be removed to avoid situation all together or similar.
ROAF (Ubuntu Dev) on the Ubuntu forum felt it is bug as part of my
discussion here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=882453
