Had same problem: when trying to use Adobe Connect Pro flash application with firefox (2 or 3), flash got stuck, and after closing browser window, npviewer.bin started to go wild, using all CPU time (had to kill it).
But today, I installed lib32nss-mdns package, and after that flash started to work!
