Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xconq

on 8.04 Hardy, xconq 7.4.1-4ubuntu2 crashes briefly into the game
(several turns) while playing the "Advances through History" and
"Ancient Near East" scenarios (those are the only two scenarios I play
regularly.) note there is also an xconq-common file for this version.

Xconq did previously work on prior ubuntu versions so I am assuming
reverting to a previous version of the program might solve the problem.
These xconq scenarios are old and well tested, so they're not
experimental games (I've been playing them since at least the mid-90s on
other forms of *nix.)

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the program, and otherwise
trouble shoot several times to see if that would work, but it has had no
effect.

thanks
