Shutdown worked with 7.10 for me.
Under 8.04 I have to wait approx. 90 seconds to get shutdown dialogue window.
/ additional info: I have changed my ATA drive to a new PATA HDD before
installing new OS, using an old motherboard, MSI KT3 ultra2 /

If I hit crtl+shift+f1 & ctrl+alt+del, then the system restarts immediately,
but displays dbus errors.
/something like above with 7.10 network manager /

When I changed the "Nice" index of dbus-daemon from "0" to "-2", the
shutdown dialogue was displayed without delay. However, I don't know how
to change the nice index permanently.
