Thank you for this hint! The module-assistant did not work for me, maybe it's because I installed the driver with the original script from the nvidia homepage "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-96.43.05-pkg1.run". But I have just repeated this script with the new kernel loaded, and now everything works fine!
