hello,

I restarted my laptop but I chose kernel "18" instead "19"

My "login" screen was 800x600 and I connected on "admin user"

The file xorg.conf was configured with Driver "vesa" and support only
800x600.

So, I follow your instruction again :
- sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg
- sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf
- Driver "nvidia"....restart

...and I can set my screen at 1280x800

so the problem only appear with "Ubuntu 8.04.1, kernel
2.6.24-19-generic"

Thanks
