I just got a new Dell laptop and I'm getting an average of 31 clicks per hour. Load_Cycle_Count / Power_On_Hours = 1706 / 55.
I just went to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/PowerManagement to try to fix this but the "How to get disks idleing correctly (without excessive load cycling)" part is everything but clear. Why ask people not to use this as a support forum but don't provide a link to a support thread? I'm using Suse until Ubuntu can get this sorted out. Maybe Ubuntu should use Suse's fix. -- High frequency of load/unload cycles on some hard disks may shorten lifetime https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/59695 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
