I am running 2.6.24-19 Linux Ubuntu release 8.04.1 with all available
updates as of 7-30-08. Update manager will start normally but when I
click on the "Install Updates" button I get the normal response of
"Starting Administrator" but no login box appears. From that point on
the Update Manager is frozen. This seems to happen only if another
program has been started before running the Update Manager. If I reboot
and immediately start Update Manager from the menu everything works
fine. It seems to hang when starting from the updates are available
icon. At this time this is an annoyance.
