Well, for the purposes of the trash applet rewrite that's going into Awn Extras version 0.2.8, I'm only going to have feature parity with the current gnome-vfs based trash applet. Implementing a "proper" trash applet is outside the scope of this bug. Depending on time and willingness, points 3 and 4 may or may not be implemented in a 0.4.0 or later release.
Please file a bug with the gnome-applets project regarding points 3 and 4 if they haven't been filed already.
