Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) apt 0.7.9ubuntu17 What happens: * When I go into 'System > Software Sources > Updates' the item 'Important security updates (hardy-security)' is not checked (ticked) * When I try to check (tick) it the field turns orange for as long as I am clicking but goes back to the unselected state as soon as I let go. What I expected; * That hardy-security is enabled by default (this may be true, but isn't for me right now) * That I can re-enable it if it has been disabled for some reason. My source.list shows that hardy-security is enabled several times: deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security main restricted deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security main restricted deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security universe deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security universe deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security multiverse deb-src http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy-security multiverse deb http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ hardy-security restricted main multiverse universe The attached file is /etc/apt/source.list, but now I'm not even sure if it's in use as when I double click on it from the desktop I am invited to use the list to replace or add to my repositories list ??!!
