Please, don't send me a reply mail but reply only in this bug. This is your email: ---------------------------------------------------------------- From: Jiafu Gao <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
I installed Ubuntu 7.10, and then updated to 8.04 from the Update manager. Here is the uname -a output: Linux jgao-ps3 2.6.22-14-cell #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:42:29 GMT 2007 ppc64 GNU/Linux Yes, I did apt-get update. Other notes: 1) I installed libwxgtk2.8-0 (using apt-get), but it does not help vlc installation (which is my original problem: vlc can not install because of libwxgtk2.6-0 is broken). Is there any reason we require the exactly same version (or at least xx version)? 2) I also manually compiled and installed libgtk2.0-0, but libwxgtk2.6-0 still refuse to install. I guess that is because manual install does not update the apt database. Is there any way to update the apt database or tell the apt-get to ignore some of the rules (in this case, dependency on libwxgtk2.6-0, which is already installed on the system)? Thanks Jiafu ---------------------------------------------------------------- In your /etc/apt/sources.list do you have all the repos for hardy? Maybe something was wrong during upgrade. If all is ok try to install the correct version of libwxgtk2.6-0 for hardy (2.6.3.2.2-2ubuntu4) downloading it from launchpad. -- Package libwxgtk2.6-0 is broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251507 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
