(Same machine, 7.10 was wiped a couple of months ago, now has Ubuntu 8.04.1)
The Synaptic GUI for Ubuntu 8.04.1 looks different from what I remember of
7.10, and the 8.04.1 GUI is rather different from the 6.06 one that I have on
another machine.
However, putting this same particular malformed url into the 8.04 GUI still
causes Synaptic to complain with error boxes, I am asked to return to the
window where I add/remove sources in order to correct the errors, and I cannot
do so: I can't go back without closing the error box, and that fully closes
Synaptic. The only way I get a functional machine back is to go into a
terminal and edit /etc/apt/sources.list.
I don't yet have X or K buntu to try.
