I can confirm this behavior based on memtest86+ 2.0.1 on the Interpid Alpha 3 i386 desktop and alternate iso images (builds 20080724.1 and 20080723.2 respectively). I get this behavior on live hardware (a dell 530MT desktop and a lenovo T61 laptop) as well as from within vmware. I get the errors starting in test two, "Moving inversions, ones and zeros". Eventually, memtest86+ gets so confused it corrupts itself. The isos checked successfully against the MD5SUMS files on cdimages.ubuntu.com.
Running memtest86+ 1.70 from Hardy on the same hardware and virtual image produces no errors. Similarly, downloading a binary memtest86+ v2.0.1 iso from http://memtest86.com and running it produces no errors on the same hardware/vm. ** Changed in: memtest86+ (Ubuntu) Status: New => Confirmed ** Summary changed: - [intrepid] memtest86+ broken on IBM NetVista + [intrepid] memtest86+ broken on various hardware -- [intrepid] memtest86+ broken on various hardware https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246412 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
