The permissions of that special file should be:
crw-rw---- 1 root vboxusers 10, 62 2008-07-19 16:39 /dev/vboxdrv
You need to add users to the "vboxusers" group to give them access.
Therefore I'm marking it as duplicate of bug 153080, which requests that this
should be easier.
