I confirm this bug with the same linux version/distribution and would like to add that this also happens in other applications -- like watching videos from youtube. Maybe totem and flash use the same code to show videos, because this problem doesn't happen in mplayer. Note: changing the system->preferences->sounds settings to alsa didn't make any visible differences.
