I changed the title to more accurately describe the issues with the
keyboard.

Since this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin
work, I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from
here.

I am able to confirm that the UP/DOWN arrow keys are difficult to use
with the sliders. If pressed slowly, the slider stops moving and gently
bounces in place. Repeated slow presses fail to move the slider at this
time.

Rapidly presses arrow keys will move the slider, with
backstepping/halting movements in some spots.

The stopping/backstepping does not happen in all positions of the
slider, but about 3/4 from the bottom, on my system.

This is reproducable any time in Xubuntu Hardy Heron, 8.04.1. The
original reportereproduced the issue in Intrepid Alpha.

Thanks for taking the time to make Ubuntu better!
