Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nvidia-glx-177

Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo M3438-G Laptop

apt-cache policy linux-restricted-modules-generic
linux-restricted-modules-generic:
  Installed: 2.6.26.4.5

lspci -v |grep -i nvidia
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV41.8 [GeForce Go 6800]
(rev a2)
        Kernel modules: nvidiafb

uname -r; lsb_release -rc
2.6.26-4-generic
Release: 8.10
Codename: intrepid

Actually this problem, is been persistent since
Edgy->Feisty->Gutsy->Hardy->Intrepid.
Whenever doing actions explained in the summary, screen goes white.
Starting from the upper right corner, and rapidly spreading across the screen.
(Kind of a like an photograph, exposed to light during development)

I would suspect the GPU, but it's been replaced 3 times.
And problem still occures.

At the moment cannot use restricted drivers at all, since the new logout-plan,
cannot shutdown, unless using
"sudo shutdown now" command.

Trying to get a camera, and record a sample to post somewhere, if needed.
Any extra info needed, will deliver.

Sorry for mispelling and such, not native language.

** Affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-177 (Ubuntu)
