This is because XGL runs in an Xnest window. Xnest has it's own display to which all applications of the desktop environment connect. However because keytouch is not launched by the desktop environment it connects to the display to which the Xnest window is connected and that display has not window manager. So it is/was not really a keytouch bug. In keytouch version 2.4.1 I have added the feature, that keytouchd takes over the display of the desktop environment if gnome or kde is runnning.
