Yup, having the same problem. Graphics are NVidia 8400 GS (driver is 169.12), also using Compiz and aMSN. On 8.04 Hardy 32bit.
X Window System crashes when changing display picture in aMSN. Tried llove's fix (& Scorp, same thing, cheers) - replacing the tkfbox.tcl file (in the .tar.gz, under Library)- but can't work out how to get read/write permissions for the \tk directory. :( Guess I'll Google it in a sec... Hmm... not as easy as that, it would seem. Could anyone here post how to replace the file when the directory's permissions are root only?
