Aaron, this is not an upstream problem, but a problem of the Ubuntu and Debian packaging. Therefore I have reassigned the bug to the Ubuntu package of HPLIP now.
Mark, Ubuntu is intendedly dropping some features of HPLIP (hp-toolbox, hp-sendfax with GUI, ...) for the GNOME and XFCE desktop CDs to save the space which is otherwise needed by including Qt. As apt-get installs "Recommends" by default fronm now on, we need to demote hplip-gui to "Suggests" for Ubuntu (which Colin has done). I have forwarded Colin's changes to Debian (via the SVN) to make a sync of HPLIP possible (use of absolutely identical source packages for both Debian and Ubuntu). -- Drop hplip-gui to Suggests - breaks usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/248656 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
