Status update: Unfortunately things do not look good. Upstream has changed their mind, and instead of pursuing the TTM memory manager (which turned out to be too complex) are instead going to develop a new memory manager called GEM. The timeframe for seeing GEM released for our use doesn't meet the Intrepid schedule. We're hoping to see it for Intrepid+1, but we will see.
