Hi Nick,

I did exactly that, befoer I sent the bug report, and the terminal comes up
with this warning message about flash hybrid.

That is all that happens, nothing fixed, no more terminal....

The synaptics package manager comes with ubuntu hardy, it was not my idea,
but it is sure nice to have (if it works).

So how do I get beyond this message in the terminal and get it fixed?

Thanks

            Sabine

......... then in the terminal I get the message configuring flash hybrid
(don't know what that is) and it is stuck there, nothing happening any more
