In general, most of these issues are caused either by bad h/v rates specified in xorg.conf (which are no longer necessary anyway), or else by invalid monitor EDID data.
Each of you seeing this issue, first try regenerating your xorg.conf - run "sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg". For most people you can just accept the defaults for any prompts it gives. If that solves it, then you just had bad h/v sync info in your config file. No further action is required. If the problem still occurs, then file a NEW BUG, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log and /etc/X11/xorg.conf, and the output of `sudo get- edid | parse-edid`. Set the title of the bug to "Need monitor quirk to fix wrong DPI for <your-monitor-model>." Please include the make and model number for your monitor. Again, don't comment onto this bug, but instead file a new bug. Each case is likely going to need its own monitor quirk fix. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Fix Released -- [Gutsy] invalid resolution detected resulting in BIG fonts on i915 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120619 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
