You can use seamonkey instead. I understand why you are upset. I yelled and yelled long before ubuntu hardy was released, but no one fucking listened to me. I told them that this bug would be the bane of the lts release. It is absolutely ridiculous to base network connectivity on a tool that does not function. For most people these days, firefox is their OS. You break that and you piss a lost of people off. However, they decided to break more than firefox it seems. The only way to fix this bug is to agree that relying on NM to query online status is not sufficient. All apps that rely on NM should be changed to use a more reliable status query api...
