Public bug reported: Hi!
PC: Toshiba Satellite p205 laptop Enclosure: Acomdata Samba USB SATA/PATA enclosure with Hitachi SATA2 500GB drive. Ubuntu: Hardy Kernel: 2.6.24-16-generic, 2.6.24-19-generic When hot-plugged in the enclosure is not detected. No /dev/* device created. Dmesg shows errors. When cold-plugged (before boot) it is detected as /dev/sdb. 'sudo modprobe -r ehci_hcd' allows to hot-plug the enclosure once and works at ~1mb/s speed (USB 1.0?) 'lsusb' does not always list the device (it may appear on one call and disappear on subsequent calls) However, hot-plugging the same enclosure to my Ubuntu Hardy desktop works as expected 100%. Thank you. 'lsusb' Bus 005 Device 053: ID 0c0b:b157 Dura Micro, Inc.
