I'm reopening this, please bear with me if this is incorrect.

** Summary changed:

- Gutsy Tribe 3 CD don't load on Dell Inspiron 1501
+ Ibex alpha 2 won't load on Dell Inspiron 1501

** Description changed:

- I tried the Tribe 3 Live CD in an AMD Turion 64 X2 Dell Inspiron 1501
+ I tried the Ibex alpha 2 in an AMD Turion 64 X2 Dell Inspiron 1501
today. It errors out as follows:

  [0.196000] .. MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC
[0.240000] PCI: Cannot allocate region 7 of bridge 0000:00:05.0
[0.240000] PCI: Cannot allocate region 8 of bridge 0000:00:05.0

When I try with the noapic nolapic options it still errors out and wont
boot. The error in this case is:

[0.240000] PCI: Cannot allocate region 7 of bridge 0000:00:05.0
[0.240000] PCI: Cannot allocate region 8 of bridge 0000:00:05.0

This is a show stopper given that the laptop won't boot at all.
