Dereck, unfortunately (or possibly fortunately), I've since discarded the aforementioned soundcard and replaced it with a higher-end card. I am not currently using Ubuntu on my workstations anymore as my job requires me to use quite a few Windows-only applications; so I won't be able to do any further testing of this particular issue.
