Not sure this is directly related, but it's highly reproduceable nonetheless.
I installed Ubuntu 6.06.1 as a new server installation from the desktop CD (using the 386 desktop kernel) and tried configuring the Atheros card by hand, editing /etc/network/interfaces The modules will be loaded and the card shows the correct configuration in iwconfig (essid, key, channel, mode and everything), but doesn't associate to the AP unless I try setting the channel manually while DHCP is running (iwconfig ath0 channel 6, for example), then the card will start changing frequencies, and then finally associates and gets an IP. Tried this with 2.6.15-26-386 and 2.6.15-27-686 Timothy Smith wrote: > Edgy Beta nightly from 10.9.06 is not correctly loading the modules > > -- [madwifi/madwifi-ng] kernel modules not correctly loaded https://launchpad.net/bugs/46639 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
