** Description changed:

I tried wireshark in root mode in Hardy. When I selected wireless
connection and I pressed List the available... wireshark halted and I
have to close it by killing from console.
+
+ To reproduce:
+ 1. install wireshark
+ 2. from a terminal, run gksu wireshark (do not use sudo directly nor kdesu)
+ 3. if needed get rid of the warning window about running as root (window can
be hidden behind wireshark window)
+ 4. from the menu choose Capture -> Interfaces...
+ 5. click the 'Close' button
+ 6. observe wireshark appears to be frozen (There is a dumpcap process running
with options -S and -M. Killing dumpcap with signal 10=SIGUSR1 'unfreezes'
wireshark.)
+
+ To test fix:
+ - install fixed software
+ - repeat steps 2 through 6 above
+ - observe wireshark continues to work as expected (i.e. 'Close' button just
closes interface window opened in step 4)
